I wondered the same thing, but Lamar Smith and the Oversight Committee have to go on record with this. That’s why he wrote the letter. My big fear is that Issa will cut a deal and nothing will happen to kenya boy or anyone else. They’re politicians who really only care about themselves, their money and their careers, not the good of the country;they’re ALL liars, thieves, con men and cowards at best. Please someone tell me I’m wrong and why….this will never going to go fast enough for me. I’ve been screaming my head off for the past 3 years I don’t trust anything anymore. The entire congress and scotus and so many others need to be immediately shipped off to gitmo. I still believe it will take a civil war to save the country.
Issa has been slow playing this. I don’t know if he is savvily trying to not get too far ahead of the media, or trying to time the big reveal for the election cycle, or just playing it safe.
The Lightsquared debacle involves issues that may concern an attempt to disarm our military via interference with GPS technology, effectively blinding our national defenses and ruining their capacity to coordinate. This is not a small issue.
This is actually the biggest issue so far – bigger than Solyndra and FnF combined. Regardless of the results of the tests – GPS interference or not – the rush to approve puts us all at grave risk.

A special counsel would be similar to an independent investigator, but is not the same as a “special prosecutor” or “independent counsel.”

It seems a little odd that Congress would trust Obama to appoint a special prosucutor to investigate himself.
