Just released campaign donations reports show Wall Street support for President Barack Obama – which so favored Obama in 2008, has declined sharply as the president hopes to be re-elected in 2012.

Goldman Sachs alone, the Wall Street titan that saw over one million dollars in personal employee donations go toward Barack Obama in 2008, has to date only donated $45,000 for the 2012 Obama campaign. By contrast, Mitt Romney has already received over $350,000 in Goldman Sachs donations. Other donation disparities from such firms as Morgan Stanley and Blackstone are showing similar trends.
Despite this current downturn in Wall Street support, the Obama campaign continues working hard to attract Wall Street dollars while simulteanously lending support for the Occupy Wall Street protests – a contradiction the Obama people appear comfortable with at present. According to the New York Times, the Obama campaign has already hired on some 100 “bundlers” – individuals with the contacts and resources to raise vast amounts of campaign cash in a matters of weeks and months. Another considerable advantage for President Obama is the likely overwhelming support he will receive from the labor unions – a group that spent nearly $70 million helping to elect Barack Obama and other Democrats in 2008 – a gesture that saw significant payback to these same labor unions in the form of the Obama $900 billion dollar stimulus package that funneled millions back to these same unions over the course of the last two years. Wall Street will be hard pressed to fully counter the donations going to President Obama via the labor unions during the 2012 presidential campaign.

Mitt Romney is the new Barack 0bama. God help us.
Romney = Obama lite
I’ve met Mitt Romney and know two of his sons pretty well. He’s certainly no Obama – or even an Obama-lite.
I don’t know that he’s the ideal candidate for the turbulent times ahead and while he’s certainly no worse than the other GOP choices, he is a much better choice than “the alternative.”
I think Mitt Romney is EXACTLY the person to get us out of this economic mess. The more I listen to him the more I am impressed. Just one man’s opinion.
Mitt Romney is the establishment pick which means he sucks! This guy isn’t a conservative or a fighter. He’s gonna try and play it down the middle and not ruffle too many feathers. That was fine a decade ago, but it is completely unacceptable now! We have to reverse course and undo the damage these creeps have been doing for decades. Mitt Romney will not be doing any of that. He is a last resort only!
R.J.
You are absolutely correct. Romney isn’t Obama-lite as some have suggested he is more like GWB redux. Your point that we need to reverse course–and McQuick–is right on the money. Mao’Bama has damaged our national credit rating and put onerous rules and regulation in place that unless we get someone who is willing NOT to tinker at the edges but CUT OUT THE CANCER the USA is dead as a going Capitalist country.
RJ nailed it. Romney is the consummate campaigner, the smooth talker who can convince Massachussetts that he really isn’t conservative and tell the rest of us that he isn’t liberal. I ain’t buying any of it. All the big money is flowing to Romney, he is the new Anointed One, and he’ll get Agenda 21 implemented just as sure as 0bama would if he hadn’t squandered his illusion of legitimacy. Romney gets on the ticket, I’m staying home. No third Party, no hold your nose and pull the lever. I’m staying home and inventorying my ammo.
Cain is going to be the new Establishment choice. Mitt doesn’t/didn’t have the guts to slap down a pesky reporter on his campaign flight last time around. How’s he gonna deal with a real problem?
He’s a wafflecone. Cain is gonna inherit the Establishment financiers.
Romney will do nothing but slow the rate of bleeding. Romney is a technocrat and a policy wonk. Anytime the question of ObamaCare comes up he waffles and talks about intiatives, changes and etc. I doubt he would call for an outright repeal. He is getting pressure on this matter and is “sounding” more forceful but I don’t believe it.
The mans true heart and brain were exposed when he invented RomneyCare and he won’t change that way of thinking.
Yes indeed. I couldn’t agree with you more, and he believes in global warming and said so on 4/2/2010 at a town hall meeting, but I can’t remember right now where that town hall meeting was. I would never vote for the man, only under extreme duress and it better not come to that. Call me naive, but Issa better really go after kenya boy and arrest him and the whole lot of them for gunrunner etc before the November elections.
If anyone can remember where the town hall meeting was located, please leave a comment here. I know I’m right on the rest of it. Thanks!
What can I say? Obama is a communist and that’s why he is supporting those lazy, looney lefties who are trashing NYC while committing crimes against the city’s hard working inhabitants.
I wonder if the Democrats in NY are still supporting him? YEP! I bet so!
I suppose that the Wall Street corporations will wait until closer to Nov 2012 to decide who they will throw most of their donations behind. If it is Obama, they deserve all the mayhem happening right now in NYC.
All of Wall Street hoped they would get to play Crony Capitalism with Obama and gave him lots of bucks. S U C K E R S.
Given Romney’s “selection” and push for early primaries to cement his early polls, that dramatically increases the chances for a 3rd party to his right and of course he will then lose big. Of course, he will lose anyway. He has no idea how to fight like a professional democrat. Welcome to the Dole, G.H.W.Bush, McCain set.
Remember the Bush pledge, “Read My Lips: No New Taxes!” Romney is a global warming Al Gore type and is not so solid with the Second Amendment. His people helped Obama pass Obamacare and his Mass. version of that has produced a doctor shortage, increasing costs, long waiting lines for appointments. He is from that state that has given us Kerry, Barneyfrank and the current opponent of the new Republican senator there.
Anyone who gives Obama a dime is a fool. If he is re-elected expect civil war. I mean armed conflict. We cannot let our country die without a fight. Let us throw them ALL out, and start from scratch on the local level. Face it, if the Federal government disappeared tomorrow, you wouldn’t notice the loss and a whole lot of people in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya would have a better chance at living out their natural lives. Israel would have to get right with Palestinians real quick without Big Brother Uncle Sam.
Our government is a cesspool. Let’s back up the tankers and clean it out!
OWS was started to slap Wall St back in line and to give Obama “his” money. Once you are in the family you cannot leave. If you screw up you get punished until you straighten up. OWS threats are to bring the wayward campaign contributors back in line. Chicago mob politics at its finest. The side effect of baiting and switching attention away from the scandals is an additional benefit. It is all about the money Wall St “owes” him.
That is why obama unleashes his ‘army’ ‘protestors’! He is giving up on the wall street ‘fatcats’, he is banking on support from his ‘army’ – the commies/socialists/marxists/islamofascists/union thugs….to wreak havoc, to destabilize the country, to create more and more crisis to scare/rouse his idiot supporters to steal or stop the election.
The politicians, the presidential candidates, the law enforcement people and the lamestream media better open their eyes, act to remove the mob before it is too late!
The hard-working Americans are too busy and too timid to start the velvet revolution. Now the leftists mob is rioting……Any velvet revolution now will probably goad them into more violence………..
Why would Americans be so stupid as to put odevil into the white house? Oh yes it is their terrific job of dummbing down of Americans that does it!
Ulsterman took my quote of the day…lol
I thought WSI said they would raise whatever funds necessary to defeat Obama.
