UM: So the name – who is the name that will tie all of this together? The labor unions, the environmental groups, Soros, President Obama…you have a single name that links all of that?
WSI: Gerard. Leo Gerard…
You want the real-deal spooky dude? George Soros is but a caricature – Leo Gerard is the real deal.
Yesterday, following the advice of Wall Street Insider, I quickly published a brief overview of Leo Gerard – head of the the United Steel Workers Union and Vice President of the AFL-CIO. Those two designations alone mark Gerard as among the most influential figures within the now Progressive-dominated Democratic Party in America. Further investigation though reveals just how deep Leo Gerard’s influence goes – well beyond the borders of the United States, and most certainly within the operational confines of the Obama White House. Gerard is not merely “connected” – he appears to in fact be the direct link between labor unions, globalization, radical environmentalism, and the highest levels of American politics. With millions of union members and billions of dollars at his disposal, there is perhaps no greater influence upon the current progressive political climate that permeates the world today than Leo Gerard.
In the 1980′s and 90′s Gerard quickly rose through the ranks of the USW’s Canadian operations, becoming its national director in 1991. He had already established close ties to Canada’s New Democratic Party – a socialist organization strongly linked to organized labor and the radicalized environmental movement. Ironically, as Canada’s voters shifted to a more conservative outlook, Gerard set his sights upon the United States and its potential to become even more politically radicalized than his home country. By 2001, Gerard was the USW’s international president – lauded by Bob Roman of the Democratic Socialists of America as being “both militant and radical.” In less than two years, Leo Gerard had also earned an executive position with the AFL-CIO – the largest trade union in the world with a membership of over 11 million whose president, Richard Trumka, is among the most frequent vistors to the Obama White House. But while Trumka is the AFL-CIO president, Leo Gerard is that union’s Public Policy Chairman – and with his position as head of USW, – the largest industrial union in North America, which though smaller in overall membership numbers than the more loosely affiliated AFL-CIO, has a far greater reach internationally, and a membership noted for a willingness to engage in overtly aggressive tactics, Gerard’s power and influence greatly exceed those of Trumka. When the AFL-CIO is involved in any kind of public protest or collective manipulation of the politica process – it is Leo Gerard pulling those strings.
Gerard, having learned the importance of utilizing labor unions to influence political outcomes during his tenure in Canada, was increasingly open and willing to join forces with the “idea groups” of the new socialist-progressive movement that was well underway in the United States in the 1990′s – often coordinating such efforts with SEIU president Andy Stern and other radicalized labor union contemporaries. Just such an example in fact was what ultimately launched the campaign of a then largely unknown young Illinios politician by the name of Barack Obama.
In 2004, Joel Rogers, a socialist-leaning academic from Wisconsin, and founder of the “New Party”, reached out to Leo Gerard in an effort to establish a relationship with the labor union leader in order to legitimize Rogers’ hopes of transforming the country’s political system into one dominated by organized labor, environmental groups, and “social justice” concerns. The two had already established something of a relationship years earlier when Gerard had written the forward to a book Rogers had co-written titled Working Capital: The Power of Labor’s Pension. Rogers would provide the philosophical foundation while Gerard’s involvement would effectively contribute the political “muscle”. All that was then needed was a candidate who would be easily controlled – one whose own experience and outlook sided with both Rogers’ socialistic utopia, and Gerard’s Big Labor radicalism. That candidate was Barack Obama. The organization became known as the Apollo Alliance. While others have documented the influence of the Apollo Alliance upon the rise of Barack Obama, that documentation has too often underscored the direct influence and control over the organizatioin exerted by Leo Gerard. While other names linked to the Apollo Alliance – Andy Stern, Van Jones, George Soros, etc. were given high profile exposes by various conservative investigators and pundits, Gerard’s own name was often hidden from open view, or only mentioned in passing, and yet, it is Gerard who continues in his position with both USW and the AFL-CIO, as well as being an appointed adviser within the Obama administration. It is Gerard who has openly pushed for the excesses of the more recent Occupy Wall Street protests – effectively calling for riots and then seeing those riots break out three days later in Oakland.
Direct evidence of Gerard’s influence upon the Obama administration is availabe with one glaring example – though glaring only to those who first know of Leo Gerard, and second, know to look in the direction of Barack Obama’s odd trip to Brazil in March of 2011. That trip saw the President of the United States, just a year removed from his open war upon the American oil industry in the Gulf, aggressively pushing for Brazilian oil production with promises of U.S. taxpayer funded assistance to the Brazilian government. While a number of political pundits at the time expressed both surprise and confusion at President Obama’s gesture, no definitive explanation for the president’s overtures to the Brazilians in this regard was ever forthcoming from the administration.
With that in mind, take this editorial from Leo Gerard published in the summer of 2008:
Also over these past 25 years, we realized the power of solidarity with our brother and sister union members internationally. This proved crucial in contesting global corporations such as Gerdau, the 14th largest steelmaker in the world, with 45,000 employees, more than 300 industrial and commercial facilities in 14 countries including Argentina, Brazil, Canada, the U.S., Spain and India. When Gerdau Ameristeel CEO Phil Casey decided he wanted to break our union and locked out 300 of our members in Beaumont, Texas in May of 2005, we responded by taking the fight global with the help of the Brazilian Confederation of Metalworkers, CNM/CUT, with whom we had an alliance. The Brazilian steelworkers knew exactly what sorts of protests would most annoy and embarrass the Gerdau family in their hometown in Brazil. Later the Brazilian workers joined steelworkers from the U.S. and Canada at a demonstration in the Toronto, Canada financial district just before a Gerdau annual shareholders meeting at which the president of the Beaumont USW local spoke. Ultimately, Gerdau replaced Casey as CEO and we got fair contracts.
A year prior to the 2008 editorial, there is this excerpt from a 2007 International Federation of Chemical, Energy, Mine and General Workers’ Unions press release:

Signing the accord, which contains six priorities for the trade unions, were the United Steelworkers (USW) of Canada, host of the unity event in Sudbury, Ontario, and trade unions from Brazil, Mozambique, and New Caledonia.
And here is yet another press release excerpt from that same publication – this time in September of 2010:
President Barack Obama has named United Steelworkers (USW) President Leo Gerard to the President’s Advisory Committee on Trade Policy and Negotiations. The committee is a private sector initiative established by the US Congress in 1974 to ensure that US trade policy and trade negotiating objectives adequately reflect US commercial and economic interests.
Soon after assuming a representative role for Brazil’s quickly expanding labor union base, Leo Gerard coordinated an aggressive strike against one of Brazil’s largest corporations – Vale. The strike lasted just over a year – concluding in the summer of 2010. Within weeks of the Vale strike’s conclusion, that saw Gerard’s influence within the Brazilian government grow considerably via his labor union powers, President Barack Obama appointed Gerard to the Advisory Committee on Trade Policy and Negotiations, to which the labor leader responded:
I am grateful to President Obama for the confidence he has shown in me, and I pledge to work closely with the Administration to help resolve some of the issues we face in maintaining a fair trading system among nations.
Clearly, Leo Gerard had a considerable interest in controlling large segments of the emerging Brazilian economy – an economy that in turn influences other emerging economies throughout South America – each of which provides significant potential for labor union growth and influence of which he will oversee. His efforts coordinating the Vale strike has a direct link to President Obama’s overtures given to Brazilian oil company Petrobus – an entity in essence controlled by the Brazilian government whose workers are also members of an increasingly powerful labor union. Barack Obama made his Petrobus-inspired trip to Brazil in March of 2011 where he personally met with both Brazilian CEOs of Vale and Petrobus. Brazilian Majors Vale and Petrobras are expected to conclude by the end of October this year the negotiations related to the operation by Vale of the Taquari-Vassouras potash mine located in Sergipe state in the north-eastern region of the country.
…According to Vale director for Fertilizer business, Mario Barbosa, if an agreement with Petrobras is reached, Vale will invest around $4 billion to explore the Taquari- Vassouras mine for carnallite reserves.
A clear case of one hand washing the other – with Leo Gerard utilizing a sitting U.S. President as his own personal errand-boy to help broker the deal.
And just this week, news is breaking of the Obama Department of Justice assisting UK law enforecement in seeking out those responsible for the “ClimateGate” leaks that revealed the organizational bias behind the global warming movement that places economies throughout the world at risk via massive government regulation and taxes. Gerard, via his Apollo Alliance connection, has direct ties to the CCX (Chicago Climate Exchange) which in turn, has a primary investment interest from London-based General Investment Management that includes board members Al Gore and former Goldman Sachs CEO and U.S. Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson. When the ClimateGate emails broke, followed by the near-collapse of serious public interest in the issue of Global Warming, these CCX affiliates lost billions in potential annual revenue. Very powerful interests both in the United States and Great Brittain are now working double-time to reinvigorate the Global Warming issue – with a direct assist from President Barack Obama, for the same people who created the Chicago Climate Exchange created Obama – and perhaps they have now decided if one no longer exists, so too should be the same fate of the other:
…The hunt involving U.S. and UK law enforcement agencies is now escalating. On Wednesday night UK time, six detectives with the UK police (Norfolk Police Department) raided the home of at least one blogger, removing his equipment to look for clues to the identity of leaker “FOIA 2011.”
On December 9, DOJ sent a preservation letter under 18 U.S.C 2703(f) to the publication platform (website host) WordPress. This authority authorizes the government to request an Internet Service Provider (ISP) to preserve all records of a specific account for 90 days while the feds work on a warrant.
Norfolk PD affirmed to the subject of at least one of their raids that this international law enforcement hunt is for the leaker, meaning not for those whose acts the leaker exposed by making public emails containing admissions in their own words.

Frustratingly, nothing I read here sounds like more than a radical group using every resource at its disposal to advance its agenda. If it’s done legally, all we can do is rally against it.
These people have been around for more than a century. They are patient and are not eager to operate in daylight, so I’m surprised at how open and blatant they’re becoming. Either they feel now that they could lose it all, or else they feel it’s all finally within their grasp. Personally, I think the odds are 50/50.
The tipping point for our victory has to be evidence of illegality, at one or more of the critical points of their agenda, that would begin to unravel this monstrous knot. Maybe that’s why WHI stresses that Holder (the keeper of all WH secrets and defender of their actions), MUST be removed. Without “Obama’s firewall”, all kinds of whistle-blowing might begin in earnest.
I remember WHI mentioning that once Holder falls, Obama may not even be able to run next year. I always assumed it was a Birth Certificate issue or something hidden in his records, but I believe now it’s that Obama HAS been the errand-boy for these people and has his personal hand on much of this covert nonsense.

Good point! I had forgotten they are coming after him aggressively now. I think it may also have to do with Arizona being Ground Zero for Fast & Furious investigation.
Sheriff Arpaio needs to spill the beans right now and not wait until Feb. to release his report re Obama’s birth nativity and his dual citizenship (dual providing he was born in the USA, otherwise Obama ain’t even a plain citizen if born outside the USA). I hope Joe A. has plenty of body guards around him. Feb. might be too late although I know the report has been revealed already to those who compiled it. Pray for the Sheriff’s safety.
A few months ago there was a story going around concerning Obama, his South American trip and the deposit of billions of dollars into a South American bank, under the name of Barack Obama. I thought it was a little far-fetched, at the time,but now I’m wondering if this has anything to do with your story and Leo Gerard.
I knew it was just a matter of time before the Sheriff was going to be in the proverbial crosshairs. I think the DOJ is underestimating the amount of support this man has that isn’t very obvious-yet.

BTW: the whole idea of incarcerating individuals who commit crimes is to take away their civil rights in order to prevent them from committing more crimes without paying the price, justice being served, serving time, etc….
Worthy of note is that the whole ‘rights of prisoners’ issue was brought about by prisoners in the ’60′s-70′s battling to retain certain rights while incarcerated. If memory serves me correctly, many of those prisoners suing the government for preservation of their rights while incarcerated were militants who converted to Islam behind bars. Remember Malcolm X and the Nation of Islam? Not to sound too conspiracy theory here, but someone in the underground/internet press has even linked Obama to Malcolm X!!! Guess what goes around, comes around.
Civil rights should NOT be an issue of race, religion, color or creed. It is an issue of people without discriminating. Leave it to this administration to make everything about race even when it isn’t.
Despite what many people think of Glenn Beck, he has previously talked about a lot that is written in this article. I believe it was early this year that he brought up Leo Gerard, the Chicago Climate Exchange, etc, etc. (Van Jones and many of the other names and organizations were not new as Glenn talked about them frequently). I don’t recall that Glenn went into a lot of detail about Leo Gerard… seems like he just brought up his name as being a really bad guy, a big “player” in what is going on, and said to look him up. Next I can recall, awhile later Glenn said something about the Chicago Climate Exchange shut down, at least under that name, and had moved on to another country???? Then, Glenn just kind of dropped it. Struck me as a bit wierd. This seems to have happened a lot with Glenn. I don’t know if he was told by his boss or “someone else” to drop certain subjects or if he just didn’t get further information. My guess is, he was told to drop the subjects when they got too hot. Then, of course, Beck left Fox at the end of June and started his own Internet program which I can’t seem to find time to watch much. Anyway, this article by UM brought all this back to my memory plus there is additional information about Gerard in this article. I should mention, Glenn also linked Obama to the Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX).
All I can say is that Obama has a lot of dirt on his hands but somehow manages to stay just enough on the fringe to keep from getting caught which, of course, is why he’s called “Teflon man” but I’m hoping the Teflon is wearing off and that he will soon be escorted out of the White House in handcuffs along with Michelle, who isn’t squeaky clean either.
Please, if you don’t happen to like Glenn Beck, I’m not trying to start a “bash Beck” conversation. I know he’s “odd” but almost everything he talks about turns out to be true. I am merely saying that most of what is in this article I’ve heard before and what UM has written just brought it back to my memory plus added more information to what I had already heard and gives even more credibility to this amazing “plot”.

Gladnick’s blog (October 9, 2008) gives some details of this little give-and-take. His blog makes it crystal clear, as have others: Barack Obama was a member of both the New Party and the Democratic Party.
It is clear enough from Ulsterman’s research that the American Democratic Party has been hijacked by similar – if not the same – elements.

Also note that Gerard has had a heart attack – (yes, the grinch actually has one) – and it is unlikely (in my opinion) that he’ll live another year or two. His kind is too angry to live a long and serene life. Anger is his own poison – and it won’t be long before it gets to him.
Article in the WSJ today says the state of Illinois wants to secede from Chicago, because all their money goes up there (payoffs), and taxes just keep going up. Sounds like Chicago really is the center of all the leftist-Union-NWO-Communist action in the U.S.
So even if and when Gerard meets his Maker, there are plenty more zombies to fall into line…
BTW if you haven’t been keeping up on the global warming front, there are tons of new peer reviewed articles published now proving that the UN-IPCC’s alarmist reports are baloney. Plus, even the New Scientist mag reports that the Earth was much warmer than now several times in its history. The “science” of AGW is definitely not settled and is quickly evaporating.
Plus, the latest Climategate 2.0 files promised another set of emails that are under lock and key, to be let out later. These may lead directly to the World Unions and NWO types. So some say that these guys know what’s coming and they are getting very desperate to prevent the final email release.

Be very clear on this matter: Each U. S. political party has Globalist inspired planks in their overall political platform.
In essense, controlling the whole agenda by controlling or at least having substantial influence in both U. S. political parties.

Not totally off topic, but, Hillsdale College ( only college that accepts zero gov. funding) publishes the Imprimis monthly. You can read it on their website. This month’s article is about the Declaration of Independence and the constitution. Reading it gave me a better picture of which current GOP candidate is closest to the ideals in our declaration and constitution. The Imprimis is always a great read, any month!
Re some other comments here, above, YES, Obama was a part of the (socialist) New Party in Chicago and I scraped up a picture (NOT just words) of Obama from that time that said he was the New Party’s choice, don’t know if that picture has been scrubbed since I posted it on another forum a few years ago.
I have yet to hear any man made global warming freak give an explanation for the disappearance of the ice age and the glaciers that covered a good section of N America. They just can’t do it – of course not!!
