The timing of this interview comes just days after a soon to be published book authored by Richard Miniter details how it is Valerie Jarrett and not President Barack Obama who makes the final decision in so many of the most critical calls from within the White House – even those involving the United States military. This knowledge is nothing new to readers of this blog, for that very information first originated from our own longtime D.C. political operative some two years ago. We talk to that figure again now, in person – White House Insider.
PART ONE:
UM: Let’s cut right to it then – the Romney campaign. How are they doing against the Obama team?
WHI: Doin’ fine. Fine. Money coming in…they ain’t spending it much just yet. Which is smart. July is not the month to do that. Get it goin’ in August. Kick ass at that convention of theirs. Then pour it on right up to the finish.
UM: And the Obama campaign? How would you compare them to the Romney camp at this point?
WHI: They are running against everything and running for nothin’. That is tough to pull off for an extended period. The American people…once they start really focusing…they don’t want to hear negative-negative-negative all the time and that’s all we are getting’ from Obama these days. They are a long way off from the Hope and Change days.
UM: Specifically on that – the Obama team…you think they can still win this though? That Obama can be re-elected?
WHI: Oh hell yeah – absolutely. They are dragging his sorry ass all over the country, putting the words in his mouth…thinking the First Lady…that image they have been trying to create around her…the racism stuff…that campaign isn’t even close to be started on that yet…they are worried about money a bit…but they got about 90% of the media in their pockets…they got tens of millions still coming in…and they got the stupidity of a whole lot of voters who ain’t been paying attention to what this group has been doing to the country.
UM: What do the internal polls say? You look confident – that doesn’t happen when you are worried. So I assume you have information that is favorable to the Romney team?
WHI: (BIG SMILE) Guess I gotta work a bit on my…uh… poker face! Yes-yes-yes…that polling data the public rarely ever gets to see. The lifeblood of a campaign. The god-amn internals!
UM: Well?
WHI: Those Romney boys…they got a good pile of money and I said they ain’t been spending much just yet. But they have been doin’ their homework on gathering up a sh-tload of polling data – especially in those swing states.
…And it’s looking good for them. I’ll tell you that. Not a slam dunk no worried scenario – but they got a real chance here to win this thing. Their campaign…it’s been rock solid so far. Forget the bullsh-t media spin trying to drive home every little supposed mistake they’re makin’ – so far the Romney team is winning this thing. But the real race hasn’t quite started yet so they gotta be ready for the real show. That’s coming up next month. That’s when the real punches start. And Romney better be ready to take a punch, cause they are gonna come at him hard.
‘Course, they did something that got my attention – earned my respect. These boys can crack a lip open themselves. All suit and ties on the outside, but tough bastards behind the scenes. Reminds me a lot of the Reagan team. Smile to your face while they are kicking the sh-t out of you.
UM: Tell me what that was – what did the Romney team do to earn your respect?
WHI: It ain’t just this one thing – like I said. They are running a solid campaign. But I do like a team that can twist the knife a bit and do it with some style – and that’s what they did recently.
UM: So what was it?
WHI: All that internal polling – the swing states. What I was just telling you about…there was one in particular that came out very strong for Romney. Huge numbers. Had to have shocked the Romney team a bit – maybe an outlier. A glitch. We are talking in the neighborhood of a ten point walk over Obama. Ten points in a so-called swing state? Independents were like 60-40 favoring Romney. Women came out just ahead for Romney. Hispanics split almost 50-50. And even the Blacks polled were just under 80 for Obama – which we have not seen in any poll since 2007. Ever.
So this kind of data comes into the campaign, right? They give it a look-over…decide it has to be….somethin’ off. A mistake in the poll. Those numbers are just too favorable to Romney. He’s doing well but these internals are saying he is OWNING Obama in this state – a state that went for Obama back in ’08. Now normally you take that kind of poll with a big grain a salt…and you…you move on. Come back to it later. Got sh-t to do, right?
Not these Romney boys. They order up a new poll. Like…it’s within 48 hours. Do it again they say. Do it right. Increase the group. Poll more voters. Cross check the data and cross check it again. Be god-amn thorough this time.
Now that costs money – but that’s the kind of money…that’s how they are doin’ their spending. Smart. Focused. No waste. They want facts. They want real results….like a business…like a well run business. That has been the Romney campaign so far. When mistakes are made they quickly react…they refocus…they move on. Just like a business.
UM: The second poll – so they ran another poll? From a larger sample group?
WHI: Right – exactly. Spent a bit more money – they want to know EXACTLY where they are in this state. If they take this state early on Election Night – that could be it for Obama. One and done. It’s a swing state you see…but Romney ain’t supposed to win it. So yeah – they order up a second poll. Get the group to do it fast – that takes more money. But they spend it – willing to spend it to be certain of getting real information. That’s how it’s done – I respect that. Love a team that works like that. Let me know where we are at – where we really sit with these people…then let me take it from there. Get the f-ck outta my way and let me take it from there.
UM: And what did that second poll show?
WHI: (Both hands slap down onto their knees and WHI leans well forward in their seat. Their eyes widened and that BIG smile broke out across their face again)
…Pure gold man. That second poll…sh-t…it came out even better for Romney. It bumped him another two points overall…picked up among women…more Independents…even a percentage among Democrats as a whole. And that poll was done right – it was the real deal. We ain’t talking some CNN/ABC/CBS/NBC/Gallup bullsh-t here. It was boots on the ground, diggin’ in the dirt…the real deal data that is the lifeblood of a campaign. And it came back aces for Mitt Romney. In a state he ain’t supposed to be winning!
Now maybe the gravity of this story…what I’m telling you here…maybe it ain’t hittin’ you quite as hard as somebody like me. For me…for a campaign…you get numbers come back like this in a state that a few months back you are giving yourself maybe a far less than 50/50 shot of winnin’…that kind of poll – DONE TWICE remember – TWICE – that kind of poll…it’s a holy sh-t moment. In a good way. The Romney boys had to have been goin’ into a full on happy dance seeing those numbers. And when they shared them with the candidate himself…even Mitt Romney had to have cracked a real smile.
UM: But what did they do that earned your respect – or was it just ordering up the second poll?
WHI: Oh hell no…the second poll was just…that’s just money well spent. What they did next…and it’s my understanding it was approved by the candidate himself…what they did from there is what took this polling data and turned it into a weapon against the Obama team. They…I’ll say it like I say it…not their words but mine. The Romney boys…they took that poll – both polls…they purposely leaked it over to the Obama team. They slapped the sh-t outta them with it. HARD.
UM: I don’t understand – what do you mean by leaked the poll to Obama?
WHI: Just like I said it…normally, you keep a lid on these internals. That’s YOUR polling data…you don’t share it. You keep it…maybe leak it here and there to somebody friendly to you in the media…but for the most part, the internals stay hidden from view, right? And you sure as f-ck don’t share it with the opposition. You let that happen…you don’t protect that data…that gets your ass fired. Those polls cost money – don’t waste that money letting the other side know that information for free.
…But this time…this time the Romney team…they purposely leaked the internals. Both of them. And the beauty of it is…the Obama guy…the one who first came across it…that poor bastard thought he had pulled it off himself. Thought he had made a deal…got the goods. Right? You follow what I’m sayin’?
UM: I do – keep it going.
WHI: So…so this Obama kid…he’s junior level but he thinks he really got something here. A brand new poll…two of them back to back… paid for by the Romney team – and he’s got them for nothing. That kid had to have been really thinkin’ highly of himself.
Then he reads the data. Then he sh-ts himself. Then he passes it on to the higher ups. They sh-t themselves. Then it goes to the big boys themselves…and Obama. And Jarrett. This poll has got them on full tilt. We’re talking major freak out session here. But you see…they can’t pass it off as just an anomaly, right? They got BOTH polls…all the cross tabs…they got everything. And the data is solid. ROCK F-CKING SOLID.
It’s got the main office in Chicago in a fit. It’s got phone calls back to DC…back to Chicago…on the campaign trail…Plouffe is taking incoming big time…Jarrett is like a damn T-Rex for a full day on this. The woman is pissed off. Axelrod hits the road for 48 solid – unavailable. He’s avoiding Jarrett. Jarrett calls in that kid…the poor kid who thought he had made a score against the Romney team…she wants to know EXACTLY how he came to obtain those materials, right? She starts to smell the set up.
Now by the time it’s explained to their candidate – Obama…Jarrett doesn’t hold back. She lays into HIM. She rattles the president. If they lose that state…and the numbers don’t look good for them…if they lose that state then winning the election becomes extremely tough for them.
UM: And what was Obama’s reaction to this data?
WHI: Hold up…I’m getting’ there. Now Jarrett…she ain’t…she don’t understand a campaign. That ain’t her thing. But she sure as hell understands a set up. She knows…by then she is realizing the Romney team has just initiated a major mind-f-ck onto the Obama campaign. And THAT is what has got her so pissed. The woman does not like to be messed with – by ANYONE.
So she is laying into Obama…basically that he better bring his A game to this…that it’s all bets are off now and they got a real race on their hands. She’s screaming at him. At everyone. It’s a one on one conversation…but everyone on board can hear it. Even over the engines. At least in the back. Maybe not up front with the press corp…but everyone in the back can hear it. She is blasting him – the campaign…she insults the voters…she goes on and on about the economy. How they should have done something about the economy by now. And then she rips into the Chamber of Commerce. For a good ten minutes. How they have always been out to get them. How they are run by one of “THEM”.
UM: Them?
WHI: She said they…the Chamber…it was “just like Chicago”. The f-cking Irish. Just like Chicago. There’s a back story to all that…the Daley’s…her and them go way back. And it didn’t end well….you know all of that. When Bill Daley left…that war they had between them.
…Look, the woman….Jarrett…she’s an outright racist. She really is. And it’s a racism that is found all through the Obama administration. That’s nothing new there…anyone who takes the time to look and add it all up…the DOJ…Holder…that’s all there. But I want to just focus on those internals and how they messed with the entire Obama campaign. How they are STILL messing with that campaign.
UM: Go ahead then – this is fascinating stuff.
WHI: It gets so much better…we are getting to the point where I really gotta tip my hat to Romney on this. Like I said…reminds me a lot of the Reagan team. Somethin’ they would have done.
…So we got Jarrett going crazy. We got Obama digesting what she is screaming at him. We got campaign staff overhearing all that. We got Plouffe scrambling to initiate his own internal in that state to corroborate the numbers that they THINK they stole from Romney. We got Axelrod playing dumb…the whole operation is getting’ its ass kicked by that polling data from that one swing state.
But all of this gets better…the real payoff is coming. You see, this all goes down early July…just after the holiday, right? That’s the timeline of all of this. Hits the fan over the course of about a week…week and a half.
And then what?
UM: You’re asking me?
WHI: Yeah – and then what? What happens to the Obama campaign right after? Think about it…a couple weeks after the 4th of July holiday…what does Obama say?
UM: …Bloody hell.
WHI: (BIG SMILE) Now you’re seein’ it. Romney got inside his head – Obama is rattled. The entire campaign is rattled. And Obama goes out and says what? You go ahead and tell me for a change. What does Obama say not two weeks after the Romney team slips that internal polling data over to them?
UM: “You didn’t build that.”
WHI: And that’s how you play smashmouth politics son. A mental castration of a sitting president. And the Romney team just did it as good as I’ve EVER seen it done right there. And the decision to make sure that polling data made its way back to Obama…that had to come from Mitt Romney himself. And when he did that…he balled up his fist and smacked Obama right up in his face. Right into that fake ass toothy fool grin of his. He let him know this ain’t gonna be 2008. This is gonna be a war. Barack Obama…Valerie Jarrett…Plouffe…Axelrod…they all got their asses kicked on this one.

By letting the Obama team see that polling data that Mitt Romney paid for, it makes the Obama campaign now have to try and spend tons more money in that one state to try and win it back. This goes with the stories last week about how the Obama campaign is now spending in the red trying to defeat Romney. The Romney team seems to be outplaying the Obama team everywhere now. Now watch for the race campaign to ramp up big time. Jarrett is not going to lose easy. That bitch is crazy.

On her application for passport renewal in 65, Ann Durham specifies her son has to be removed from her passport because he is not an American citizen anymore as he has been adopted and naturalized under an other citizenship (Indonesian) and is now called Soebarkah (a compression of Soetoro and the islamic formulation of barack, meaning barack son of soe) (Interestingly enough Soe Bar Kah is also supposed to mean in Indonesian: Who is this? Ironic isn’t it….)
Indonesia up to 2008 did not recognized the principle of dual citizenship. By reciprocity, the US did not recognized it also when it came to Indonesia.
So in the eyes of both nations, you were either American or Indonesian. Could not be both until 2008.
Therefore if Obama was Indonesian at one point in his life, he had to “reapplied” for his American citizenship before becoming an illinois senator. Simple paperwork procedure since his mother was an American, yet no evidence has been found he ever did it.
This would make his status as a state senator and US senator (not to mention US president) a complete violation of the constitution.
I personally think his status got corrected discreetly later in the game, ie. 2006, 2007, 2008…
Also it needs to be known that US senators get a US passport delivered to them no question asked, automatically soon after their election.

Kay~~ Yes, I have read the above numerous times and saw photo copies of the immigration papers which stated what you have just written. So there is documentation which backs up what you are saying.

I have also read some time ago that Obama’s real life mother is someone called Anna Chin who is part Filipino and Chinese, but I never read who was suppose to be his dad. Also, I read as a teen, Stanley Ann Dunham had stated often she didn’t need to become pregnant to have a baby. Friends of hers who lived in Washington state remembers her passing that remark before Dunham moved to HI. (Keep in mind, she moved to HI and later moved back to Washington to attend college with her 2 week old baby. Seems odd in that day and time for a baby born two weeks earlier, for her and him to have traveled that far. Today, traveling from HI to WA state would not be such a big deal two weeks later. Back then, a different story.)

BHO was listed as the father in the microfilms from 1961. I really don’t think there is anything more to it than that. I don’t believe BHO was born at any HI hospital but beyond that the proof is scant.
In fact if FMD or Malcolm X was his father then there is no reason to believe he was born outside the US and he would be a Natural Born Citizen. With BHO as his father he is not a NBC regardless of where he was born (at least this is what I believe based upon what I was taught in public school and having researched it casually since 2008).

I have not been showed any documentation proving Obama was born in Hawaii. As a matter of facts considering that every piece of documentation presented is fraudulent, I would conclude he was probably not. As to his parentage, I question it strongly on his father side, but until I am presented with evidence to the contrary I stick with Ann Durham.

Obama and co overlooked a major issue when they hoped for Romney to be the Rep Candidate. The guy is Mormon and believe his mission to be the first Mormon US President to be divine and paramount. Major motivator. Romney has something to prove. HUGE. Will thraw everything he’s got in the fight.
Romney also did something that shows how well he can hide a punch and take a punch: he gave a mild rebuke to the London Olympics. The press went crazy, for such a small issue.
And then what? Empty seats. The man has a knack for organization; he can smell when something isn’t being run right. And that includes, as WHI is saying, the Obama campaign.
My prediction: Jarrett will get canned, once she loses it in public (coming soon!) Axelrod will take her place. That’s dangerous territory, because he DOES know how to work a campaign. It will be the Clinton White House, all over again. Doubt they can roll back the Leftist landslide they started – they’ll get trapped under rubble of their own making.
Jarrett is the absolute last person Obama will run over with a bus, even though to any sane person she’s the person who most deserves it. If she goes down, she takes the Obamas down with her, and they know it. Obama has neither the will nor the guts to stand up to her; the shouting tirade that WHI describes is just more ample proof of that.
Awesome story! Even though Romney may only elicit a lukewarm reception amongst conservatives, he knows how to play the game at this level and is in it to win it, unlike that loser McCain.
The Obama’s know who did a lot dirty work to get them into the White House. Jarrett should be sitting in jail next to Michelle in the orange jumper, but that would take a lot more balls than anyone in this government has to follow it through to the end.
They’ve seen how this team plays the game and they don’t want to be the next “heart attack” victim.

Speaking of Clinton, I hear he has been called in as a pinch hitter by a desperate team obama. That may prove to be a big mistake. Clinton is still PO’d at what they did to Hillary, among other things.

I wouldn’t put it past the big dog to gut BO at the DNC, tell the delegates that if they vote in Hilary, he will help her to restore the country back to the halcyon days when he was president. Romney did fantastically abroad. There were no gaffes. The regime’s lapdog press, even Fox News, has been spinning it otherwise, calling everything a gaffe. His events in Israel and Poland were outstanding. Romney spoke brilliantly and showed that he has a full grasp of foreign events and policy. He got the support of real heroes – Netanyahu and Walesa. All Comrade Barry Hussein could muster is an endorsement from enemy Ahmadinejad and lots of complaints from those eternal “victims”, the Fakestinians, with cries of “raaaaacism”. That’s Comrade Barry Hussein’s support base.

To your question I ask: Hve you noticed just how engaged the American people are? I remember being so frustrated in 2007/08 that so many actually heard what they wanted to hear from Obama but refused to actually listen to what he was actually saying.
In the last 4 year we’ve seen his administration do exactly what he said he was going to do… take America down through “fundamental trasformation.”
Now here we are, 4 years later… wouldn’t you say you are much more informed today than you were then? I know I am.
If you ask me, this seems to be a repeat of what we saw in the 30s and 40s when there were actual Nazi training camps in Manhattan. If you haven’t read “The Forgotten Man” might I encourage you to do so, the parallels to today are eerie.
Then of course there’s the new book “The Communist” by Kengor – he actually pulled news headlines of that period – yes, they are identical.
Like then, elections matter.
No I have not read Shlaes’ Forgotten Man, but I have read many seminal books on the Depression and New Deal. I’m aware of the parallels, and you’re correct, there are many.
I think people are better informed than they were. I’ve been a politico for about a decade now, and as a Mark Levin listener I was well aware of what the nation did as it elected this tin horn dictator to office. Obviously I know more than I did 4 years ago, but isn’t that kind of a given?
Still, I’m not comfortable by any means. Romney has one thing going for him IMO – he’s NOT Barack Obama. That, of course, is a huge positive. But he’s given voters so little to rally to otherwise. I think somewhere, deep down, Mitt Romney knows exactly what he wants to say to Obama, but it’s his personality to remain perfectly professional. His policies as governor leave something to be desired, and he lacks charisma. The central question in this election is to what extent Obama screws up his own campaign… I couldn’t tell you what Romney stands for in less than 10,000 words, and that’s a dangerous fact.
WHI comparing Romney’s team to Reagan… I just can’t see that. I’m sick of comparing anyone in the GOP to Reagan. I want a candidate who can be their own damn wo/man. And Romney, to me at least, seems incapable of articulating how and why he would change the course of the country if elected.
All that said, I’m (obviously) voting for him and also working to be sure the infrastructure of the Dem party is compromised.
Romney has one big thing in common with Reagan: They’re both “principles” candidates. That is, both of them are/were working to turn their respective elections into a discussion about the fundamental principles of what the United States of America really stands for. Both of them plan/planned not only to win an election, but to give the nation a permanent shift back towards its founding ideals. That kind of “principles” campaign can turn an ordinary election into a realigning election.
Reagan articulated a vision of a strong, moral America as a leader in the world, against Carter’s weakened, relativist nation. Romney is talking about the free enterprise that made America wealthy, versus Obama’s “you didn’t built that” philosophy.
I agree, E.A.B. There’s a tremendous opportunity here for Romney to create the same kind of fundamental shift to proper American ideals that Reagan did. God knows the producers in this country are every bit as hungry for it as they were back in 1980. I just hope Romney appreciates and makes the most of the tremendous opportunity/responsibility in front of him.

On the order of 70% to 80% of all Americans favor med pot. The issue is probably not enough to win an election – this year. But it has got to hurt.
And the DC Circuit is taking a look at “no medical use” for pot – what if they get pushed to decide and call for a reschedule before the election? I hope Romney has considered those possibilities and is ready for a counter people will buy and not more refer madness.

I want to guess that the state in question is the state in which the Liberty Bell resides. WHI is right – if that state goes Romney early on election night (east coast), we’ll be able to call this thing for Mitt pretty soundly.

Here’s the candidates: FL, OH, VA, MI, PA, WI.
First of all the state in question has to be one that they had 0% suspicion they could possibly lose.
Otherwise the Mao’Bama campaign wouldn’t be so freaked out.
Right off we can eliminate FL and OH Mao’Bama only got 51% in both.
Secondly we can rule out VA. In 2010 VA elected a Republican governor in a landslide and the Senate race is 50-50% so it’s not VA.
That leaves: PA, MI and WI. Mao’Bama won those by 55%, 57 and 56 respectively.
I am ruling out PA because it is some what of a swing state going GOP in ’72, 80, 84, 88
That leaves WI and MI. Given the recent slap down the GOP gave the Dems in WI it wouldn’t be shocking to see it go red in 2012.
My guess: MI—now that would shock the Mao’Bama team BIG TIME.
MI is not a not a first tear state. Last time PA was announced for Obama with only 3% of the votes counted at 8: 03 pm.

I have looked at PA being blue or leaning Obama with suspicion for a while. The internal results would be in total harmony with my gut feelings.

Given the scant clues in the story it is very difficult to hone in on anyparticular state. Frankly I think PA and MI are the most likely purely from a shock value stand point.WHI makes it perfectly clear the Dems were shocked to the ppoint that VJ went off on Mao’Bama.

Believe me, as a Michigander, I want to agree with you. However, I can’t. MI hasn’t gone for a R president since GB41. The Dems here might be conservative Dems, but they still vote w/the Union and their party every time.
They want to add a couple of Leftie ideas to the constitution this time around, so the Left vote will come out in force. One’s about “green energy” (scam) and the other is anti-Right to Work (double scam).
Also, MI is usually dumped in October when polling shows that a candidate needs to spend more time in OH/FL. Realclearpolitics has MI as a swing state, but it barely is. Obama won w/a significant margin here and a lot of people are really not thrilled with Romney – for a uniquely Michigan reason – he left and had his career outside his home state. (Yeah, I know – they don’t see the bigger picture, still that plays w/people).
Unless Romney can generate some momentum coming out of the convention, I’m not convinced that he’ll be able to win the State. And last time, people were pissed at how Michigan was dumped by McCain. Those are dynamics polling can’t account for. Romney needs to close the deal with people who are looking for reasons not to vote for Obama.
However, like others have stated, I think it’s a midwest/NE union state.

I’d guess PA, VA or FLA. Gotta be an EDT state. OH kept polls open late last time around and I doubt things change this time. An early decision in OH seems unlikely given prior history.
You could make a case for any of them, really. FLA seems unlikely but there were some comments about Jews in FLA deciding the whole race recently. FAUXbama pulling ads in PA could just as easily be interpreted as confidence as weakness. I would be shocked if that were the state in question. VA seems most likely and the recent Bob McDonnell VP chatter seems to hint something may be afoot in VA that Romney wants to capture.
NC seems a lost cause for FAUXbama. Dem scandals there could definitely swing the state in a significant way. I’m guessing VA. PA and Ohio are still probably going to vote FAUXbama. FLA may end up deciding it all is my guess.
While I must say that PA was my first thought, FL has several characteristics that would shock the Oblowme campaign if they were afraid of losing it.
First, it has the most electoral college votes of all the swing states, and second, that would mean losing the Jewish AND Hispanic vote there. Third, being an EDT state, it would set the stage for the rest of the country. I’m going with FL.
Remember, the Insider said that it would be probs for obama were the state called early in the night.
Which means it might be a state that is not in the Eastern Time Zone, but is a state that Democrats expected would only be decided late in the evening.

I get teased a lot here about my obsession. Randall and E.A.B. are sceptics. ATB might be as well. It is a common affliction on the Right. They know that government is corrupt but they believe in a Drug War exception. In another venue I have a few that fight me on the subject tooth and nail. The attitude is “Drugs are bad and the government must fight them.” My attitude is “Drugs are bad for some people and good for others and fighting them corrupts government.”

Precisely. How stupid does a person have to be to not take 5 minutes to check into any given subject? I have a friend who was almost 29 years old in 2008 when he voted in the general election for the first time. He voted for Obama. Now, having known this friend for half his life, I knew exactly why he voted the way he did. He listened to the liberal “Bush is bad” attacks, listened to his dolt parents who think every Democrat is Bill Clinton, and he let himself get caught up in the ridiculously dangerous “Let’s elect a black president because it’s cool” sentiment.
Now think about how many millions of people just like this voted in 08.
I think you have a point, that Clinton seemed to like people, while Obama obviously does not. But I am convinced, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the main difference between Obama and your typical Democrat is that Obama is a Marxist, plain and simple. We all get excited to hear good news. Myself included, but we are still in the third quarter of this game. We haven’t won yet. I’m sorry if I sound pessimistic, but folks, we still have alot of work to do. Educate everyone you know. Talk to them at grocery stores, your dentists’ office etc. Hell, I don’t care, just keeping telling Obama supporters everything you can to discredit him. One last thing, ask everyone you come in contact with if they’re registered to vote? Carry voter registrations with you, so if they say “no”, you can hand them one. I sound like a crazy loon, but we need to get out the vote more than anything else.

I’ve been a fan of Mr. Paul for many, many years. It was immensely gratifying to see how much coverage and support he received in the primaries. If I could snap my fingers and make anyone POTUS, he would be it.
That being said, Annie, I think we have to accept reality. A vote for Ron Paul in this election is a symbolic one only. People are waking up to the fact that our two parties have but one master, but not enough of them have yet. We’re making progress, but the country isn’t yet ready to elected the uncorrupted, nor are even Republicans ready to elect a genuine conservative. As a consequence, I’ll be voting for Romney. I will do this despite the fact that I know far more about Romney and his masters than I would like due to my previous occupations and resultant contacts in government and intelligence agencies. I’ve learned appalling things about the man, but electing him over our current president will at least stem the tide of Marxism for the time being.

The relationship between Ron Paul and Lew Rockwell is extremely troubling. Rockwell is a hardcore Anarcho-Capitalist and without question a loather of all American tradition. Rockwell has the spectacularly cynical ability to focus and inflate the negative over the positive. There’s been several essays that are easy to find online that reinforce this relationship, some throw water on it. Both are equally compelling. There’s a number of other things that I wish I could share on this subject that might illuminate why the connection between the two doesn’t concern me as much as it does others but unfortunately I can’t.
Suffice it to say, I agree with you to a great degree. On the subject of Friedman and Hayek, the former I agree with you on, the latter I vehemently disagree. But that’s neither here nor there.
The enormous mistake that both you and E.A.B. are making is that there are two types of Ron Paul supporters:
-The Paulites which I think we can safely say Annie is one of. They are obsessive, anti-semetic and disturbingly self aware in their belief that America is the bad guy and that if we took an isolationist approach to all things foreign policy related, the world would be fine.
-The “Average” Ron Paul supporter. These people constitute the vast majority of his supporters. These are the people that simply respond positively to Paul’s message of personal liberty and limited government. They have no idea about the connection between Paul and Rockwell and some of the more speculative items you list in your post.

Barack Obama has been appropriately strident in his condemnation of the mortgage-based financial corruption which nearly led to the collapse of the investment banking system in the United States. But there are some strong smelling financial skeletons in his own closet. Obama has his own personal housing crisis that is tied not into Fanny Mae, but into a corrupt international financial combine headed by Nadhmi Auchi, the convicted Iraqi billionaire at the center of the Elf Aquitaine corruption trial in France. Auchi has been shown to be the fountainhead of a source of corruption flowing from Iraq, to France, Italy, and the United States. His financial network, under a Luxembourg company called General Mediterranean Holdings, spread from Baghdad and the Middle East to Paris, (where Auchi successfully posited Saddam’s UN Oil for Food scheme), London, Washington, and Chicago, making very few ripples and raising no concerns.
Auchi is suave, cosmopolitan, brilliant, and ruthless, and he has bottomless pockets. His business is international banking, which is complexly organized and appropriately camouflaged to conceal any criminal activity. He is the Godfather, but speaks in an Iraqi, not a Sicilian, dialect. A British survey credits him with being toward the bottom of a list of the two hundred richest men in the world. But in such a rendering Auchi would both feign modesty and ensure that any such accounting show only the tip of his financial iceberg. Other sources credit him with being the fifth richest man in the world. His methodology, however, is straightforward: Under cover of seeking legitimate business, buy whoever is necessary in the political decision chain to control the process and the outcome. As his longtime telecommunications partner Ala al-Hawaja, candidly put it to a potential competitor in Cairo, “there is nothing that cannot be accomplished with a suitcase full of money”. So far he has been proven correct.
Auchi has claimed to have been “a visitor to two White Houses”, and his London web site flashes a picture of him at the Clinton White House between Bill Clinton and Al Gore (a long way from his early days with Saddam Hussein as part of a Baathist assassination squad.) Auchi is, however, also the shadowy puppet master to Antoin “Tony” Rezko, a Syrian American with whom he partnered for more than a decade in schemes from Baghdad all the way to Chicago. Their relationship began in the wake of the Iran-Iraq War, when the US was cultivating Iraq and Saddam Hussein. Rezko is now in federal prison awaiting sentencing for 16 counts of corruption involving Illinois officials. Buying influence is his métier, guided and financed by his master, Auchi. Rezko has also been a White House visitor, with his picture taken with Bill and Hillary Clinton for his contributions out of Chicago to the Clinton political war chest. Was Rezko then and now merely the main Chicago conduit for Auchi money? Or was he part of a larger Iraqi scheme dating back to Saddam to buy access to US government contracts and influence? What specifically was Auchi buying and where else did his money go? Was Obama, like the governor of Illinois, a recipient of Auchi’s favors as part of Rezko’s scheme to purchase government contracts through kickbacks from campaign contributions? There is no question that Obama, as a fledgling state senator, was a target of the Iraqi corruption combine, but did he become one of its pigeons? Was Rezko simply the front man for Auchi and Iraqi funding (whether it came from Saddam, Oil for Food, or General Mediterranean Holdings) over his entire Chicago career?
Rezko had identified Obama as a good political target before he graduated from Harvard Law School. He was both the source of Obama’s employment and of his largest political donations during his short political career. Rezko had no financial source apart from Auchi, his partner of over a decade. Rezko was also the source of the financing for Obama’s $2.3 million mansion despite his having no clear source of funding apart from Auchi. What did he get from Obama in return?
As the Wall Street Journal showed several weeks ago, Obama has been anything but forthcoming about his real relationship with Rezko and Auchi. And the public has no idea how extensive and how corrupt the network that Auchi has developed across the world is. Let me count the ways: Like organized crime, the network shows no public profile beyond legitimate business activities, and has a small army of lawyers threatening any critics with libel actions in Britain, Auchi’s adopted residence where there is no First Amendment protection.
Billionaires can buy anonymity at the same time they buy influence and politicians. In 2000, although Nadhmi Auchi had spent two decades as Saddam Hussein’s broker in the international oil and armament worlds, he was seen from the United States as essentially a European go-between, who worked the highest levels of the Italian and particularly the French and British governments. He had bought an aura of respectability by buying senior politicians and favorable press, and threatening any critics, a pattern he had begun to introduce in the United States with British assistance a decade earlier. I first began to fathom the extent of Nadhmi Auchi’s reach and corrupting influence when I was given responsibility for monitoring illegal transfers of technology and munitions to Iraq as well as overseeing all coalition transportation and communications reconstruction in Iraq.
My office had two key responsibilities, international technology security and international arms and technology trade (essentially keeping good things out of the hands of bad people), with the latter function given the reach of the DoD Inspector General’s office. Our investigations surfaced some salient facts about Nadhmi Auchi and his underreported activities: that Auchi had been Saddam Hussein’s senior arms dealer and had morphed into his principal international financial bagman, and had become the Godfather of the UN Oil for Food scheme. (As a former State Department Inspector General overseeing all US foreign assistance and foreign military sales, I had had thirty years experience dealing with technology and armament sales, most of it in the Middle East.). I was therefore startled to also discover in addition that Auchi had surfaced as the financier and a principal beneficiary of the entire Iraqi cellular telecommunications tender, worth some $3 billion.
Through the customary combination of facilitating payments spread among political figures in Iraq and elsewhere, Auchi was able to fix the three contracts for three companies which in turn benefitted three of the most senior Iraqi politicians. $435 million was found missing from the Coalition Provisional Authority communications account along with all records. Multimillion dollar bribes were paid to various Brits and Americans to facilitate both the fix and its cover up.
The official DoD report of May 11, 2004, which Auchi has spent four and a half years trying to discredit, encountered cover up efforts within the DoD. These in turn prompted Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld on December 10, 2004 to transfer the case to the Department of Justice to assure the integrity of the continuing investigation. The FBI is still working on the case with the continuing assistance of my office, and Auchi’s US visa to come to the United States was cancelled.
The Rezko trial in Chicago, moreover, has highlighted Auchi’s reach into other ministries to provide bribes for contracts. In the Ministry of Electricity the Rezko-Auchi combine was seen in action offering million dollar bribes for multi-million dollar contracts to Ayham al-Samarra’i, an Iraqi American who had become Electricity Minister. In addition, recent evidence has surfaced that an Auchi subsidiary, the Iraqi German Hospital (IG Hospital), has been awarded a billion dollar contract at the Ministry of Health thru the influence of Dr. Adel Mohsen, the notoriously corrupt arbiter of health ministry contracting. “Dr. Adel” is close to Prime Minister Maliki and is his point man on the appropriately named Iraqi Committee on Public Integrity. While Auchi was a frequent visitor to the Green Zone in Baghdad during the CPA era, and, according to reliable Iraqi sources, met numerous times with CPA viceroy L. Paul Bremer, that was a useful but temporary expedient. Auchi is now said to be an advisor to Iraqi Prime Minister Maliki as well as being the representative of major oil and commercial interests seeking contracts in Iraq. If Auchi now owns Maliki, he now owns everything.
As the above shows, Auchi has parlayed his long time presence on the Iraqi scene into a position of even greater wealth and influence than he enjoyed under Saddam. But it is his skill in buying his way to foreign leaders and funneling that advantage into a position of paramount influence into Iraq that is truly impressive. He simultaneously developed access to the nascent Iraqi leadership in London while he was buying access to the British leadership, and through that got access to US leadership and the Coalition Provisional Authority. It was done largely through lavish donations and largesse to the British establishment over several decades, and to the Labour party in particular. Auchi’s purchase of respectability included the grant of a coat of arms from the Queen, and the support of very senior members of the cabinet, some of whom sat on his GMH board. On the 20th anniversary of GMH activities in Britain, Auchi was given a print of the Houses of Parliament signed by virtually everyone with any political pretentions in the House of Commons. His London sponsors then opened the doors to Washington, to the Pentagon and ultimately, to the White House.
But he had bought his way into France as well: As a major arms dealer for Saddam he had cultivated President Mitterand and President Chirac, as well as key members of their cabinets. In September 2003, however, a French court had found him guilty of corruption and of receiving improper commissions of $100 million in the Elf Aquitaine scandal. The trial showed that Auchi had developed direct relationships with the key players in the French political and business establishment, and was the largest single stockholder in the bank BNP Parisbas. He received a slap on the wrist in the form of a multimillion dollar fine and a suspended jail sentence.
By that time, however, he had moved to the US market. Thanks to his British network, he established relationships with Paul Wolfowitz, Lewis I. “Scooter” Libby, and others in the Bush I Department of Defense at the time of the first Gulf War, and deftly carried his insider utility and his reputation of being helpful in Iraq over to the Clinton administration in 1993. He arrived with a laying on of hands from Lord Cavendish, the former head of British intelligence, and soon was a member of the Kennedy School board of Advisors at Harvard. He became, thru charitable donations and investments in the US, largely in the Chicago and Detroit areas, the embodiment of the Good Iraqi and the Good Arab. He established an Auchi chair at the American University of Cairo, and there have been reports that he was a large donor to the Clinton library.
His seemingly innocent investments with Rezko in the Middle West, however, went hand in hand with Rezko’s extensive scheme to trade off campaign donations to Illinois politicians for jobs and multimillion dollar state and city contracts. That strategy appears to have tied in as well to Joseph A. Cari, Jr., a Clinton administration official who served as Democratic National Committee Finance Chairman in 1993-94, and who, like Rezko, was found guilty of extortion of Illinois officials in 2006, and similarly is awaiting sentencing. Cari was Clinton’s national finance chairman when Rezko and Auchi made their White House visits. Cari is now managing director of a Middle East trade and investment fund in New York. How many of Rezko’s donations and US investments originated with and were dependent on Auchi? Is there any evidence that Rezko had any other major source of funding? How long had the Auchi network been in place in Chicago? And what were Auchi’s connections to the Iraqi spy ring about to go to trial in Detroit, who in late 2002 paid two Democratic congressmen to go to Iraq and oppose the war, and which flourished on UN Oil for Food vouchers?
So we have a pattern of buying influence which tied directly into the Illinois Democratic Party, the Daley machine, and the Democratic National Finance Committee. It is no wonder that Barack Obama “has no recollection” of being at a welcoming dinner feting Auchi at Rezko’s house in April 2004. At that moment Auchi was flying high despite his corruption conviction in France: He was then still the darling of the neocon cabal at the defense department, which was so heavily invested in Iraq. He had been a welcomed guest at two White Houses, and appeared to own the entire Illinois government. We still do not have any sense of the full extent of his influence.
A month later, however, his five year visa to the United States was revoked because of the findings of the DoD report on his central role in fixing the contracts for the entire Iraqi telecommunications system. In the ensuring four and a half years the outlines of his role as an ongoing arms dealer responsible for importing and exporting munitions into and out of Iraq, and as the financial ringmaster of reconstruction corruption in Iraq, have become increasingly evident, despite extensive efforts to cover up his role by Iraq reconstruction authorities and a submissive and buyable media. Auchi simply bought everyone he needed to buy in Iraq and the United States to carry out his Iraq agenda. Before his sentencing at the end of this month, however, Rezko may broaden our understanding of Auchi’s larger agenda.
But his underwriting of the purchase of Obama’s multimillion dollar Chicago mansion may have been the step too far which finally brought down Auchi’s grand scheme of empire and intrigue. It was, however, cheap at the price to buy a putative United States Senator. Nothing boneheaded about that decision at all. What is a candidate worth? This was Chicago, after all. On the other hand, however, if Barack Obama becomes President of the United States, the sky may be the limit for Nadhmi Auchi.

I read the post at LC, and you’ve now posted it about 1,243 times. There are many things in it I disagree with, especially the stuff about Iran Contra. That’s just a bogus analysis, hate to say. The focus of Iran Contra was not Latin America or Iran, but Afghanistan.

NAMERM – re this WHI repprt – I also don’t agree with the consensus about his rant being the panicked “gaffe” due to the polling news. It’s only obvious that it naturally shocked them to find it out. But think his rant was the “real” Obama & crew’s beliefs, just like Warren’s…and I’ve posted before that it seems they are doing this on purpose – not a “gaffe”.
