It is well known the Occupy protests of last year had significant support from Big Labor – namely Leo Gerard.
So why bring the Occupy machine to the DNC Convention? What is Leo Gerard up to?
I am reminded of the warning from Insider given just prior to the start of the RNC convention that had Vice President Joe Biden being used as some kind of distractionary tool to reflect poorly on the Republicans:

I would say it is far more likely when the word got out that this false flag activity had been exposed they shut it down. Now we just have to wait and see what sort of attack they will stage against either Biden or Obama at the DNC, and try to make it appear to have been done by a right wing nutcase. My feeling is that if they can pull it off around the Secret Service, they would try to make it look like someone was out to harm Obama, as they would fire us his base followers who would claim it was purely racial attack. We can only hope the Secret Service does their job and are not complicit in anything the left has planned, and that everyone gets out of this OK, to include the entire nation.
A crazy conspiracy theory for you, UM~~ because you asked. But allow me to enter through the back door reminding us all of OWS.
Firstly, we all know OWS and the Democrat Party are working together in coordination as a distraction to The TEA Party. Also, let’s acknowledge it is in the best interest of the news print and television media to speak as positively of OWS. The media seems to have OWSers backs often enough.
To have a parade of OWSers merge on Charlotte would result in more time spent on the Democrat National Convention news. The more time spent on this convention, the better. Any news is better than no news as long as it doesn’t translate to murders and rapes and the likes.
I simply view it as a means to garner more attention for the DNC and Obama. I could be wrong though.
Gerard could simply be trying to fill those blue seats in that great big stadium…optics and pretense…and as I’ve so often said…KABUKI….

Drudge has a headline now that says something like, “Dems vow to fill the stadium during O’s acceptance speech.” Maybe the Occupiers will occupy some of those many empty seats.
Drudge also reports that they’re scouring bars for attendees.
I agree, America. Sometimes the simplest explanation is the correct explanation. I can’t imagine the DNC wanting OWS there protesting since a good portion of the OWS’ers are simply mad at the world and dislike both political parties. Far more likely that Gerard is just trying to leverage the “useful idiot” portion of OWS to fill those seats..

The GOP Convention produced a double omen. First the hurricane remained on course long enough to provide drama, and then diverted away from Tampa to permit the convention to proceed smoothly. That was an omen they have the Mandate of Heaven. And then the failure of the Occupy mobs to make any significant disruptive showing, despite their promises, is a scond omen.
Andd what about the Secret Service Agent’s gun left in the lavatory of the Romney campaign plane? An accident or a subtle gesture? NObody who has received any military training can comprehend losing one’s weapon through absent-mindedness. If it was a genuine accident, it is a third omen.
And the fourth omen would be the sand statue of Bari crumbling and melting under the deluge of rain at the DNC. Reminds me of the Presidential Seal falling off his podium. These divine interventions plague this Administration and is a constant reminder of the symbolism of a failed presidency. The other image that stands out to me was that photograph on the Drudge Report of Bari with a rather large black fly sitting on his face that was by his lip and the caption underneath said it all, “Lord of the fly”.

Frankly, I think that Biden’s presence in Tampa at the same time as the RNC short-circuited the works as any foul play would be very difficult to redirect onto the Republicans with Biden’s presence already broadcasted as provocative and an incident to be too coincidental to refocus the attention. Hurricane Isaac simply granted the Democrats and Biden in particular to cancel plan A.
An incident at the DNC probably would be more controllable, and it’s probably viewed as more easier to massage the blame towards Obama’s opposition, which would be painted underlined in who would protest a like minded ideological convention.
I think they are desperate to fill up the stadium and since there isn’t any great excitement over the DNC convention, Occupy will supply it.
So, use union bodies to fill the seats and Occupy to create drama and news where there would be none.
There is a town (forgot name) here in GA giving away free tickets to the Dem Convention. First 50 people will receive a pair of tickets. If over 50 show up, they will have a drawing. This might be happening in many places to fill seats.
This will be a lot like an active Civil War reenactment, with some playing the Commies/Occupy and some playing the Klansmen/Nazi (anyone remember Greensboro, November 3 1969?)

perhaps Leo Gerard is planning a “who’s your daddy” move on the dems just to remind them that the mugs and thugs and unionistas are really the ones in control of the party.

This fits exactly into the narrative of the Dem Convention. This is an anti-Romney visualization. Watch out for the photo ops of every major Convention participants “supporting” the occupiers.
The numbers of protesters are the “justification” for Obamacare, and every others craddle to grave entitlement program the Dem love so much.
This is both a celebration of the “going to the left” of the Dem party and an intimidation of any blue dogs remaining.

But ss for the convention – the DNC won’t stand for heckling. Guessing the Occupy “protestors” will mainly serve as paid enforcers – assuming that they aren’t being used as less-violent reenactors of Greensboro, 1969.
Best way to make sure that the story is told when the thugs start beating is for cameras to have a direct uplink.
My thought is that the OWS and other protesters will be in Charlotte so that, with their radical left wing message, they can help to make Obama look “moderate” and appeal to Independents better.
This would be the same reason they did not amass in large numbers in Tampa, so as to not help the Republicans look more moderate by comparison.
And, they will get coverage, so they can repeat hard left messages that will dutifully be beamed out to the masses by the mainstream media.
These large protests take a lot of pre-planning to get large numbers of people in one place. A hurricane is dangerous, you never know what to expect, and that messed up their plans in FL. It was a blessing from above and cleared up in time for the RNC convention. And what do you know? Thundershowers are expected during the DNC convention. It looks like all those Occupy and Union protestors are still going to have to deal with storms.
Let the wind blow hard and the rain fall in buckets.

Hooray for Occupy Wall Streeters protest. 3 Cheers for Leo Gerard as he leads them. I remember back to when the DNC had their convention in Chicago, & Humphrey was running. American voters don’t like to anyone taking it to the streets. They won’t like these protests either.
