A rather shocking reduction in the unemployment figure from 8.1% to 7.8% despite still tepid job creation has some in the media hinting that perhaps Barack Obama has cooked the books in order to try and neutralize his disastrous debate performance against Mitt Romney two days ago. Even some on MSNBC are skeptical…
Did the Obama administration have its own Labor Department falsify the numbers to try and gain a political advantage?

I think we have a group of ardent master propagandists who will stop at nothing to manipulate and coerce the public into believing their 2012 revised version of just keep hoping for the change.
It’s obvious they are manipulating the numbers as we were warned ahead of time here that they would do.
The Obama campaign is going to scratch and claw it’s way to victory no matter how ugly it has to get.
The numbers sound like they’ve been concocted by liars for hire.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the numbers out of this administration keep “coming down.” People are no longer receiving 19 months of unemployment benefits; it’s gone back to the original 6 months. As people’s unemployment runs out, and as long as the government only reports the U-3 (on unemployment) numbers, it would make sense that that number comes down. If you look at the U-6 number, on and off unemployment, the number still stands unchanged at 14.7%. Don’t be fooled by anything that comes out of this administration!

Able bodied work participation for adults dropped from welfare requirements just in time for labor stats.

You are correct!! Clinton required that any able-body person on Welfare was required to look for work. I August (I believe) Obama eliminated this requirement for: Welfare Recipients to be activly looking for employment.
Someone made the comment that this would affect the un-employment levels just in time for the election!!
This is just another way to “COOK THE BOOKS” !!

The cooked books could claim there is 2% unemployment, but it won’t matter because people are struggling to make ends meet.
There’s absolutely no chance that these numbers are correct.
My tip-off was when Drudge kept dangling an 8.1% – 8.2% in red at the top of his page over several months. It never waivered from that number, although I could see the world was anything but 8.2%. When you read his linked article, there was always some hype word attached to that number to shape your perception that it was creeping up or held in check. Total Tavistock manipulation. Today we have words that it ‘slid,’ it ‘tumbled,’ it ‘unexpectedly drops’ …. so that you think through your emotions instead of using your head and crunching numbers to expose their tricks. Good on you Wall Street Insider for not falling for it!

Of course the numbers are cooked. Anyone that is such a fabricated person(s) AND anyone who has created the fabrication would have no problem cooking the books. It astounds me that the psychopaths running this adminstation think people are blind and stupid. I have a terrible fear that this election is also going to be cooked. What will the people do if he’s “installed” for another term? It’s going to get very ugly.

Cooking the books has a kind of Marie Antoinette appeal (though her infamous quote probably was faked by Obama-like people bent on revolution)
In other words, you can tell us we’re fully employed, but our bank accounts don’t reflect it; you can tell us our businesses are recovering, but we still can’t hire anyone; you can tell a hungry man that his belly is full, but he’ll believe his stomach.
Little Man Barry and President Jarrett, you can tell us we’re better off than we were four years ago, and that may actually be true – but that’s only because you’re nearing the exit; only because you’re leaving do we have hope. This could even be a merry, merry Christmas!
