Media Attempting Obama “Comeback Kid” Storyline – Will It Work?

With the media fully engaged in minute by minute updates of Hurricane Sandy as it creeps across the East Coast of the United States, some odd shifts in polling data appears to be suggesting Barack Obama, with ample help from his Mainstream Media allies, is attempting a political “comeback kid” scenario.  Will it work?

Take this polling headline from this morning via the Washington Post:

WaPo-ABC track: 49 Romney, 48 Obama, three days running

This headline has now already been regurgitated by various other media sources – almost all of them indicating the race is now tightening once again – Romney’s momentum has slowed while Obama support appears to be once again on the rise.

Oh really?

The Washington Post then goes on to state the candidates are virtually tied on the issue of taxes and health care?  Taxes and healthcare?  No mention is made in the Post’s summary of their own poll regarding this question they posed to potential voters – or the results:

Q: Regardless of who you support, which candidate do you trust to do a better job handling the economy – (Obama) or (Romney)? (Among likely voters)

OBAMA:  45%    ROMNEY:  50%

The economy is of course THE issue of this election cycle, and the Washington Post made NO mention of the fact Mitt Romney holds a commanding 5-point advantage on this very issue.  Instead, the Post chooses to focus on “taxes” and “health care” in their summary report of their polling data.  Uh-huh…

And now here is the kicker – the very last question of this poll, which again, the Washington Post does not mention in their summary report:

Q: Generally speaking, do you usually think of yourself as a… (Among likely voters)

Democrat:      35%

Republican:   28%

Independent: 34%

Yet another national poll that gives Democrats a considerable polling sample advantage – this time a Democrat over-sample of 7 points cooked into the polling data.  What is clear now is a concerted push by the Mainstream Media to somehow paint Barack Obama as staging some incredible comeback in the final days of the election to convince still undecided voters he is worthy of their support because, well, he really is a winner.  Really!  Trust us, say the media.  Barack Obama is a winner!  We have the polls that prove it.  (Though of course, even with a 7-point over-sample advantage Obama is still trailing Mitt Romney – but they would have you ignore that fact.)  Whether or not this last ditch effort to save Barack Obama works is up to you – the voter.

So, given that knowledge, the TRUE headline of this latest poll should read:

Obama Can’t Even Win Poll Of Likely Voters With +7 Advantage

Or perhaps you can think of another more appropriate headline.  Feel free to leave it in the comments section below.

    • Call Talk radio…tell the people to boycott ABC, CBS, NBC, GE, CNN, Disney…the media is to carry news, not propaganda for one candidate and blackouts on something as serious as Benghazi….
This election is We the People’s to decide…not a corrupt media…and we will not be dictated to….

      • I never really understood the phrase “sh*t eating grin” until I saw the way the media coddles Obama. To them I say, “You eat the poop out of Obama’s diapers, smile and whimper, ‘please, may we have some more?’ You are disgusting!” Somebody should give each of them a white feather for cowardice.

    • Barry plays many roles. The Scarecrow for example, who sings:

I could wile away the hours
      Conferrin’ with the flowers
      Consultin’ with the rain
And my head I’d be scratchin’
While my thoughts were busy hatchin’
If I only had a brain

      I’d unravel any riddle
      For any individ’le
      In trouble or in pain

With the thoughts you’d be thinkin’
      You could be another Lincoln
If you only had a brain

Oh, I would tell you why
      The ocean’s near the shore
I could think of things I never thunk before
And then I’d sit and think some more

I would not be just a nuffin’
My head all full of stuffin’
My heart all full of pain
I would dance and be merry
      Life would be a ding-a-derry
If I only had a brain

      • “Bye bye Bathhouse Barry.
Take your big birds, bayonets, binders, bitch and babies, and bullshit, and hit the tsunami-ridden beaches of Hawaii.

        Good riddance.”

Oh yay-us! Sing it to me, sweet Obeline.

This is an “Excellent” video made by an “8th grader”!!

She made a Report card for Obama & Romney based on “FACTS”!!/Marilyn

13-Year-Old Jenny Gives Report Cards to Obama and Romney – YouTube!

Published on Oct 19, 2012 by Jenny Cantrell
Jenny is a 13-year-old 8th grader who’s been interested in politics for a couple of years. She was confused about the claims
of the Democrats and the claims of the Republicans. So, she decided to look at the “facts” and do a report card for President
Barack Obama and one for Governor Mitt Romney. She compared them and now presents her findings in this video.

There is still hope for some of our school kids!! Excellent!!

      • Think for a moment – this could backfire royally with speculation that the report’s being ‘delayed’ because the unemployment figure is too astronomically high to release before the election.

Like every other exploding cigar Team Zero has lit, this could be fun to watch.

        It’s not 2008 – we’re not completely stupid anymore.

    • Since the first debate , Obama has been looking and acting more and more like a loser . People don’t like that , as WHI noted some weeks ago . That said , I wouldn’t be surprised if the Obama machine stooped to unimaginably dirty tricks to win this thing . If they have anything left , that is .

    • I never really understood the phrase, “Sh*t eating grin” until I watched the MSM reporters and news commentators on TV as they spin their lies. My comment to them is this, “You eat the poop out of Obama’s diapers, smile, and say,’please, may we have some more?’ You are disgusting!” Somebody needs to give these people a white feather for their cowardice.

    • I think Obama is toast in Ohio. The numbers just are not there for him.

Also feel good about CO and FL. And NC seems wrapped up. That would be 262 electoral votes. FL may be tightening a bit, but I’ve heard that Romney is still looking good there.

That would leave Romney just 8 EV’s short of the presidency.

There is one state, though, that concerns me. Virginia. The race might be tightening there. I know that Virginia is the likely “great internal poll state” that WHI mentioned before, but with the demographics of the state, including the latte liberals in Northern Virginia, I still want to make sure that things are locked-up there.

FOX News Channel showed the awesome documentary “The Hope & The Change” last night. I have been trying to spread it around, because it is available for free to watch on Hulu:

If you can, please spread it around.

I think I will try to find some Virginia sites on the internet to help get that documentary seen. If anyone else can do the same, please do. I am going to look at newspaper sites, etc.

We almost have this thing won. Just need to finish the last 8 days strong.

      • I think we’re doing great in North Carolina and we’ll win by a health margin in Florida. I’m almost sure we’ll win Virginia. Not quite as confident on Colorado, but it’s leaning in our direction.

Ohio is the swing state that worries me. Rasmussen is the only pollster that shows Romney winning there; all the rest show a tie or an Obama lead. Romney does seem to have the momentum though. And the polls that show Obama winning Ohio would indicate an unprecedented leftward shift in Ohio relative to the rest of the nation. A good rule of thumb is that polls showing something unprecedented are usually (caveat: but not always) wrong.

In Iowa, New Hampshire, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania, I think Romney will outperform expectations. Maybe even win a few.

I think Nevada is out of our reach this time. Same for Minnesota, Maine, Michigan, and Oregon, though I think Romney will give them a fight they won’t soon forget in those states. If he can pull off a win, those would be the first targets for President Romney in 2016.

    • Just the fact that the liberal media is attempting to craft a “comeback” narrative for Obama is an acknowledgment that he’s losing.

The danger is that this kind of media-manufactured “comeback” can actually succeed. It’s exactly what the media did for McCain during the Republican primary in 2008.

It can also fail. They tried to do it numerous times for the unelectable Newt Gingrich earlier this year, in the hope of setting us up for a landslide defeat of our own making. That time, it didn’t work.

We have to make sure that it won’t work this time either. Remind everyone you know that Romney is a future President and Obama is on his way out.
