Five hundred retired generals and admirals are running an ad in Monday’s editions of The Washington Times calling on the country to elect Republican Mitt Romney on Tuesday.
In plain terms the officers, who paid for the ad themselves, said they support Mr. Romney: “We, the undersigned, proudly support Governor Mitt Romney as our nation’s next president and commander-in-chief.”
The ad then goes on to list all of the officers, in alphabetical order, in four columns of print.
The retired admirals and generals said they decided to take this public stand to try to head off “having to live through four more years of what has been experienced since January 20th, 2009.”
The list contains a number of prominent four-star admirals and generals, including five former members of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Among those is the surprising appearance of retired Army Gen. Hugh Shelton, a former JCS chairman, appointed by President Bill Clinton.
In retirement, Gen. Shelton had aligned himself with Democrats, advising former Sen. John Edwards in his 2003-04 presidential run and endorsing Hillary Clinton in her 2008 presidential campaign.
Also on the list is retired Gen. James T. Conway, whom Mr. Obama inherited as the Marine Corps commandant, and retired Gen. Michael Dugan, former Air Force chief of staff.
Gen. Dugan was fired by then-defense Secretary Dick Cheney, in the George H.W. Bush administration, for talking too freely with reporters about the air war plan for Iraq in 1991 Desert Storm.
In October 1992, Gen. Dugan showed up on a list of 21 retired generals and admirals supporting Bill Clinton for president.
The Romney list contains a number of ex-fighter pilots, such as retired Air Force Gen. Chuck Horner, who ran the 1991 air war. The fighter community is greatly concerned about the aging fleet of warplanes, tankers and cargo jets, and the lack of money in the defense budget to fully modernize the force.
The most prominent Army general is Tommy Franks, who led U.S. Central Command and devised the plan for invading Iraq in 2003. His war plan was criticized for not planning for a robust Iraqi insurgency.

“500 Admiral, Generals to Endorse Romney”
Nearly 500 former military admirals and generals are poised to endorse Mitt Romney, the Washington Free Beacon has learned.
The group will post a full page ad in the Washington Times on Monday. The advertisement will have the headline, “We, the undersigned, proudly support Governor Mitt Romney as our nation’s next President and Commander-in-Chief,” followed by the names of the former military commanders.
A spokesman for the group emphasized its independence from the official campaign. The Romney campaign has not sanctioned this ad buy, a spokesman said, and the members of the group are paying the fee themselves.
The spokesman added that 389 of the individuals on the list are on the Romney Military Advisory Council, too. The Romney campaign has already announced these individuals’ endorsement.
“They have 389 on their list,” the spokesman said, while “we have almost 500.”
The list comes as a Military Times survey revealed that active duty, National Guard, and military reserve members support Romney over Obama by a two to one margin.

And I am gratified that one of those Single-Stars was my friend in high school, even arranged my first ever date.The date was not very successful, as first ever events seldom are, but I’m proud to see my friend, successful and on the right side.
I believe that list of military leaders enddorsing Romney has growm, and continues to grow.
I note that of the seven individuals on COOTUS’ short list, one of them, Richard Danzig was a lawyer who was appointed Secretary of the Navy by Willie Clinton, and has never served a single day of military duty, either as enlisted man or officer. A clown-commander who doesn’t know how to polish his brass or even salute properly.
Another one was the Chief of Naval JAG, that is, the lawyer who knew nothing about military matters, but has been a specialist in waging lawfare against our own troops in combat. As for Generals Colon Bowell and Weasely Clark, I believe many of us have already formed opinions, and will receive their endorsements accordingly.

Not a surprise here. Obama learned about the power of riots — if he didn’t know it already — when he assisted his “cousin” Raila Odinga in Odinga’s quest to become the leader of Kenya.
As many know, Odinga lost the election and his supporters rioted after the loss. This eventually led to Odinga’s getting some kind of power-sharing arrangement, I believe, with the election winner. Thus, Odinga was rewarded for his supporters rioting.
As WHI has said, the goal of the rioting following an Obama loss would be for Obama to regain his fallen “standing” by being the person (presumably the only person) who could quell the (possibly completely staged?) rioting masses, which I guess we are to assume would consist primarily of African-Americans.
WHI called this one a long time ago, saying essentially that Obama’s group would be happy to see the USA burn if America didn’t reelect Obama.
Obama looks nearly certain to lose on Tuesday, even if voting shenanigans are pulled in Ohio. So, if his group is going to run the staged riot ploy, they have to start setting it up now. That may be what we’re seeing.

I think many of the threats ARE from campaign workers and union members disguised in ebonics in a desperate effort to frighten people. I cannot imagine anyone actually voting for Obama for this reason. The air is rife with the smell of their desperation. I look for lots of problems Tuesday.
