First – it’s great to have RI giving me such timely updates throughout the day. I’m getting a real sense they are good on their word, and deserving of White House Insider’s personal suggestion that they had something to teach me.
Second, this is the second time in one day I am made aware of just how closely Republican Insider is keeping tabs on the ongoing discussions of UlstermanReport readers. More so than even I have been available to do so. Impressive.

So here is the actual message just received from RI:
Have been an on again off again listener of a radio program titled the Moretti Report. I came to know of them from earlier reports you did involving I believe, WSI. The ”Old Man” right? He indicated he was a fan of the show and now I know why. Really interesting and informative conversation. The kind of conversation America should be having every day. Certainly the kind of talk the GOP should be having with themselves.
Don’t know if you listened to the program today but there were two sections that really caught my attention and earned my approval.
1) I took some heat from one of the hosts. I have no problem with that and welcome the feedback. I really want your readers to understand that. Keep it coming. Like I told you before, the party really needs to start listening to the people whose votes it’s asking for, and I’ve been telling them that for years. I think after this last election, a lot more of them are ready to listen. I would say that just like the host, I am also very frustrated with the Republican Party machine. It needs to be repaired. I know that as well as anybody. Man do I know it! Not replaced, but it does need to be repaired. She was 100% right in her frustrations. I share most of them. As for the GOP primary race she talked about, maybe you and me can sit down and have a specific interview on that. Whenever your schedule allows it I’m available. Just let me know. There are some stories I wouldn’t mind sharing with your readers.
2) At the 68:45 point in the program the discussion that follows between the hosts and some guests, I believe there was three guests at one time, was really really good conversation. Totally blows away what people are hearing from about 90% of the other programs out there. I sat and listened to what they were saying, and at least half the time was nodding my head and saying “these ladies GET IT.” So I really want to suggest if you didn’t hear the program, to go back and listen to it. These are the exact kinds of people the Republican Party must listen to and support and get help from as we are already preparing to get back in the ring for 2014. Back to true conservative values that are communicated in a respectful way. Tea Party, libertarian, constitutionalists, whatever, they all need to have a welcome home in the Republican tent. If we can do that, we can go after these Democrats. We can fight this political insanity that has been ruining the country for the last 24 years or so. That means we all listen. We all learn. We all join together and recognize that if we don’t do this fight together, we don’t deserve to win anything. And that will be that. No more America. I’m not willing to just let that happen. I really believe most or all conservatives feel the same way, regardless of whatever category they put themselves in.
Listen to the program. I’ll say it again. Those ladies get it! I have already forwarded to staffers who I trust. Just like you, I am telling them LISTEN. I might not have the ear of the leadership, but that is going to change. IF we succeed in 2014. Like I told you before, new blood to go toward an old direction. I have help, quite a bit actually who feel just like I do, inside the party for this rebuilding process. It will take some time, but it is happening. When I get to listen to the kind of discussion that was on that radio program, it makes me want to work that much harder. It’s people like that who deserve a much better Republican Party. That’s what I’m trying to do. Please take a little time to listen to the program from today. If you want to know where I’m coming from, it’ll help you to understand. And great work today. Hope I didn’t overwhelm you but when I said I’m all in with this, I meant it.

Thank you. The radio program is a breath of fresh air, and made me feel like I was among friends. I know I am not alone in being absolutely furious about the election, but anger fades and is replaced with the question of what to do next. It is time to fight on.
Rhode Island and Maine are planning to introduce legalization measures in their legislatures.

My guess is that they want to get out front on the issue to use it to beat the Republicans – in the case of Maine they are after the Republican Governor. In the case of Rhode Island the midterms of 2014 and the next Presidential election in 2016.
If they make legalization a Democrat issue they will be repeating their strategy of 1932 re: FDR and alcohol Prohibition. The Democrats are very careful to protect their brand and extend it.
And yet we have Republicans commenting here who insist on driving away votes. It is like the Republicans have a DEATH WISH.
I just had a (libertarian leaning) Republican who ran for office this last cycle – to put a choice on the ballot instead of no opponent – who said to me to the effect “because of the way Republicans treat libertarians he would never run again”. My guess is that some of you Republicans out there are cheering his decision.

I listened to the program. I liked the fact that they were supportive of every faction of the Party. And they had lots of bad things to say about how the Rs treated the Paul supporters.
I was also amused at their suggested answer to the “ABORTION QUESTION” which mirrored to some extent my view on how it should be handled politically. Which is:
“I abhor abortion. But it is a private matter and the government should stay out of it. I do support xxx organization which helps women who are considering abortion.”

If an abortion-loving party is what the R’s want to become, count me out. There’s a reason “life” was listed first in “Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” I will defend the right of the unborn to my dying breath. And if any intellectual honesty were present in your view, you would admit that abortion has been losing ground in nationwide surveys, year after year. The percentage of teenagers who find the idea repugnant continues to grow and has overtaken the pro-death side. Check out the movie Juno, which showed a civilized approach to unwanted pregnancy.

And the Paul supporters got the treatment they deserved. They’re not conservative, not constitutionalists, and not on America’s side.
I think RI is being totally honest with us. Hes not telling us he can save the world himself. He’s not saying he knows everything about everybody or everything. Not a bunch of conspiracy stuff. I like it. There are some republican so called voters who need to grow up.Stop looking for somebody else to save us without us lifting even a little bitty finger. We got to go out there and do it ourselves. Like helping out Col. West. That is a great idea. He is standing up for us. We need to stand up for him. Right?
I need more from this RI. I need some call to action. I don’t need an interview who answers softball questions.. I need real proof.. Spill the beans and shake up the system…

I agree that we need to welcome all conservatives and constitutionalists into the Republican tent.
But not Libertarians. Libertarians are simply not on our side. Every time they’ve gotten into the tent, they’ve attempted to hijack conservatism. Every time they’ve failed at it, they’ve gone on to sabotage conservatism. These people frankly prefer socialism over a Republican Party that they can’t take over.
Conservatism should be open to all…*except* those who openly oppose us or who quietly stab us in the back.
We already “get it.”
Yeah. Too bad THEY (most of the R’s in D.C.) don’t GET IT (that there are many, MANY out here who do and are sick to death of them).
