Barack Obama’s “Mr. Creepy” Jim Messina…

After getting the most recent update from WHI I had to do some research on one of the more interesting/entertaining portions of that communication – the descriptions of Jim Messina aka “Mr. Poltergeist”…

Here is the actual description received by White House Insider regarding Mr. Messina:

“Jim is a creepy looking guy.  I look odd.  Some might say handsome in an odd kind of that guy needs to tone it down a notch kind of way.  Messina is just total creepy.  Flat out cold sweats keep him away from me creepy.  A while back there was those Poltergeist movies.  The first one was good but the rest of them, well, not so good, right?  But the second one had this guy in it, played a creepy as hell dead preacher devil thing.  He would be walking along some white picket fence singing some hymnal with his white as bone skin and the most horrible mouth. Man that old boy scared the shit out of me and I was a grown ass man when I first watched that thing.  Ok, I bring that up as a kind of point of reference for Messina.  I saw him and something just didn’t sit right with me about him.  I been around plenty of odd looking people and I’m no portrait prize myself.  You ever see Henry Waxman?  Now him and me we get along ok, at least when I was around, but damn if that boy ain’t ugly.  But Waxman ain’t creepy.  Messina is the current king of D.C. creepy.  Has the softest wettest man hands in the business and that kind of handshake just gets me backing out the room. “

I wasn’t terribly familiar with Jim Messina beyond knowing he was among the higher ranking Obama re-election staffers.  I now know of course he is much more than that – and, given that above photo, he does appear more than a bit creepy.  That photo in fact went viral and there are now hundreds of versions devoted to its inherent creepiness.  I remember seeing that photo when it was first released but did not realize the public aversion to it was so strong.  Here is but one example:

Having established Messina’s legitimate creepy reputation, I then went in search of the Poltergeist connection so colorfully indicated by WHI:

“A while back there was those Poltergeist movies.

Ok – here is a video clip of that very character referenced by Insider.  Admittedly, there is a more than uncomfortable similarity between the two…

    • I remember when that movie came out. I was a young adult, yet that guy scared the hell out of me. He was one of those characters that you would think about while you were trying to get to sleep, at night.

I later learned he was actually dying from stomach cancer, while filming. He was diagnosed before filming started, and knew he didn’t have long to live. I guess he wanted one last role, and did a perfect job in his final performance.

As for Jim Messina, to me he always looked like a woman, a nun type of woman. I wondered, early on, if he wasn’t a transexual. My other thought was, you could probably hear him sizzle when he goes out in the sun. I think the pasty, white skin along with his lips, that are always really red, are a big part of the creep factor.
