If this CPAC version of Rick Perry had been available in 2011, the political landscape of 2012 would likely have been far different. As I’ve noted a few times already – Rick Perry underwent serious back surgery just prior to announcing has candidacy in the summer of 2011. He attempted to campaign while under great pain and doctor supervision - likely to the great detriment of both his performance and message.
No such troubles here with this speech.

I doubt his pain meds were responsible for calling those who didn’t support illegal immigration “heartless.”
And how effective has he been in eradicating C-SCOPE, the subversive, Ayers-inspired, anti-American curriculum already operating in 75% of Texas schools?
Perry won’t ever be prez. He’s been a good gov though. Like his 10th amendment stuff. Also like his anti Dept of Education stance. He can’t do much about the school curriculum crap, thats between the publishers and the Dept of Ed an the unions. And as far as immigration, he was right about trying to move the issue off the table. Romney was destroyed by his self deportation stance. That was totally idiotic. I like Perry. I like Paul Ryan and Rubio and Walker and Rand Paul even more. The Republicans are starting to look like a party that is ready to fight. Finally. About time.
Don’t forget Mike Lee and Ted Cruz. I’d take either one for prez in a heartbeat.
Frankly CPAC has become a joke. They parade out a bunch of “so-called” Conservatives who tell tha audience what they want to hear and then go home and govern like RINO’s. Not all of them do this, Rand Paul is an exception but the vast majority of them are phony.
I still like Rick a lot. He should take another run at it.
