John Kerry Says “Do It For The Children” – What About The Hundreds Killed By Obama Drones?

As he spoke to Congress, Obama Secretary of State John Kerry repeated the claim that hundreds of children died from sarin gas inhalation in Syria.  Such deaths, if true, are certainly horrible, but for this administration to use that claim as motivation for U.S. military intervention in Syria would seem rather hypocritical given the hundreds of children killed by the very same Obama administration’s repeated use of drone strikes, would it not?

(Obama drone strikes are responsible for the deaths of hundreds and possibly thousands of dead children throughout the world.)

Earlier this year, the Bureau of Investigative Journalism (link) released as study indicating that nearly two hundred children died from Obama drone strikes in Pakistan alone.  Given that such drone strikes have become increasingly common throughout areas of the Middle East and North Africa, the total number of children killed by these drones must be far greater  – and likely far greater than the number John Kerry is using in Syria as justification for American military intervention in that particular country.

Does John Kerry believe then that the lives of Syrian children are more valuable than the lives of Afghanistan children, or Pakistani children, or Somali children?  How is it he says nothing regarding the hundreds or possibly thousands, of children being killed by Obama drones, but now rushes to declare war against Syria based on still uncertain accusations of chemical weapon use by the Assad regime?

Russia has declared John Kerry to be a liar – and thus, so too does it declare Barack Obama a liar.  Vladimir Putin has repeatedly asserted it was the same Syrian rebels the United States is supporting who released sarin gas in the hopes of creating an outcry that would initiate an American military response against the Assad regime.  At this point, so far has the credibility of the Obama White House fallen, that a growing number of Americans are now sitting at home wondering who to believe – the Obama government, or the current leader of Russia.

These are odd times to be sure, but I would urge readers to return to the initial premise of this story.  If Secretary Kerry wishes to use dead children as a motivating factor for military intervention in Syria, how soon will he call for similar military intervention against the United States by the United States for all of the children his administration has killed via drones?

Strange days indeed…

    • If the more factual body count (fewer than 300 dead – most not children) in Syria is used in this argument, the Obama administration’s drone attacks have killed many more children than this Sarin attack.

This administration lives on its own planet.

    • My response… How about doing nothing for MY children… you know, the ones you pledged your oath of office to? They’ve done nothing to deserve your corrupt lies which will inevitably lead us into the wrong side of a conflict culminating in a declaration of a world war.

Perhaps the only reason the Princess approves of bombing babies instead of poisoning them is because it makes the objects of Swift’s satirical premise inedible?

Considering that one of the “rebels” ate a heart from the body of a dead Syrian soldier, you can see that the ghstiliness of the analogue is matched by the reality. Our allies are cannibals. Some of them, anyway.
